A question and say goodnight.

I will say good night on this one. Maybe tomorrow.

  1. Nighty night.
(Haven’t heard this song in yonks)

  2. It’s an oldie (so am I) :-]

  3. Love her. Love the song!!

  4. There’s a piece of music haunting me today. Remember Patsy Cline? I just melted when I heard her marvelous contralto voice. (Remember, Carolyn, how I once said I love the range of the viola?) She died in a light-plane accident while heading to her next gig. And that came after two terrible near-miss car accidents. Here’s my favorite song, from about the time I graduated from college:

Last evening I got an e-mail from a young friend who had just missed a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler, while doing 85 on a road that sounds marginal for 55. She’s a college freshman, a bright girl who has fought some demons in the past and has lots of promise. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose her.

But the odd part is that I have never met her. We’re e-mail friends.

Everyone who liked country music knew when the world lost Patsy Cline. But if my friend KJ had died, not even I would have known… nobody would have bothered to track down her contact list and e-mail someone who existed only as an e-mail address. But the world would have been poorer, if not now, then 20 years from now.

Oh God, KJ, take care of yourself, wherever you go, wherever you are!
