She says          she felt
surrounded,             wrapped in
unconditional love.   Her father gone so
many years, with family on the  other side,
there to soothe her dying fears.  Voices floated
up above the operating bed below. Her husband
whispered in her ear and plead, come back to me
don’t go.  She choose return to tell of love
awaiting her and all of us, she says.
Could  it be true? Or is it just her
own sweet spirit that
surrounds her
whether here
or there
?

I hope it’s true. I think it is her own
loving spirit that surrounds
her whether here or
there. But is it
for the rest
of us
?
