YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when…

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when…

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is because they don’t have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn’t have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.
11. You have started tilting your head sideways to smile. : )
12. You’re reading this and nodding and laughing.
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are  going to forward this message.
14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn’t a # 9 on this list.

Somebody out there likes my poem.

A little bragging today. 🙂 A fellow blogger thought enough of something I sent to post it on her blog.

http://cafegirlchronicles.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/the-poetry-of-tango/

I am too klutzy I am sure to ever actually successfully maneuver a real Tango, but I can at least listen and write about it. The poem came from an Al Young(California Poet Laureate May 2005)  poetry workshop. He put on a CD of Yo Yo Ma playing tango (Soul of the Tango) and asked us to write down whatever the music elicited from us.

My poem, Tango, was the result.

Cafe girl’s blog is a great read. All kinds of things from the sights and sounds (musicians) of Montreal, memories of friends and family, to advice on what not to believe even if you hear it in several languages, to … yes, learning the Tango.

Here’s another tango link if you are interested in the history of the dance.

Top kill. Is it working?

http://www.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=3

“Top kill” in process. BP says they won’t know until later today if it worked.  Still spewing mud, but hoping that is all it is. Mud being pumped in. Triple redundancy they say.

We will see. How long has this been leaking now?  Why couldn’t they do something earlier? Were they trying to save the well or something? Don’t want to lose the investment? What?
